On April 22nd , from the United States to Bali, via Iceland and Italy, the Earth Day 2012 slogan for everyone will be “Mobilize the Earth”. Telespazio and e-GEOS have answered the call with an image captured by one of Italy’s four COSMO-SkyMed earth observation radar satellites.
As part of the activities to bring the European satellite system, Galileo, to full operational capacity, performance verification tests on the first two operational satellites launched on 21 October 2011, have been successfully completed at Telespazio’s Space Centre in Fucino.
ESA’s
ATV Edoardo Amaldi lifted off from
Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French
Guiana, today at 04:34 GMT (05:34

towards the International Space
Station. Telespazio (Finmeccanica/Thales)
plays a key role in the third phase
of the ATV campaign – from the launch
through to in-service support.
Telespazio will be present at the 31st annual Satellite 2012 Conference and Exhibition dedicated to the telecommunications and satellite services sector. The event will be held at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C (March 12-15, 2012).
