DVB Digital Platform on Eurobird 9A at 9°E

The opening of the 9 degrees East orbital position for
TV and radio broadcasting and the introduction of
EUROBIRD 9A satellite has widen the offer of Direct-To-
Home (DTH) programmes already available from HOT
BIRD satellites.
Telespazio now offers customers, in addition to its HOT BIRD
Digital Platforms, a new DTH facility on EUROBIRD 9A as a
competitive and cost-effective service to access one of
the most important TV markets worldwide, as well as an
affordable solution to supply signals to the terrestrial
head-end distribution networks.

With its orbital position, just four degrees from HOT
BIRD constellation and with the same downlink
coverage, EUROBIRD 9A can be easily received using
off-the-shelf dual-feed consumer satellite dishes.
The service is available from the Telespazio main
teleport Fucino and the connectivity for the delivery of
the signals is provided via international fibre optic
networks, accessible through the interconnect with two
large Italian cable operators.
