Agreement between SKY Italia and Telespazio for broadcasting digital TV via satellite

Recently, Telespazio and SKY Italia have signed an agreement to
build and run two new satellite teleports at the SKY centres of
Rome and Milan Santa Giulia, which will broadcast SKY’s 160-plus
themed digital channels.
New transmitter systems will be built at the SKY satellite teleports.
These will link up with the 19 transponders of Eutelsat’s Hot Bird
satellite constellation at 13° east, which has already been
configured and preset for all subsequent additions to the SKY range.
This innovative technology implemented by Telespazio, and managed by the Lario Space Centre,
will further improve the quality and reliability of the services provided by SKY to over
4 million of subscribers.
