EGNOS
Telespazio hosts and operate two of the six EGNOS uplink stations (NLES).
In Europe, starting from the experience gathered in Research & Development projects M-TRADE and MENTORE, Telespazio is presently implementing the SCUTUM project, to further exploit its presence in the service provisioning in the transport markets, for regulated and commercial uses.

SCUTUM develops EGNOS services for the tracking & tracing of road dangerous goods transport, and implements an operative case. ENI the leading Italian oil and gas company, makes use of the EGNOS services developed in SCUTUM to monitor its fleet transporting oil and gas in Europe. SCUTUM has the support of the Italy’s and France’s Ministry of Transport.
Telespazio was also the coordinator of METIS, the Euro-MED GNSS I project, aimed at the development of EGNOS service market in the countries around the the Mediterranean basin.
In the field of Services Infrastructures for Civil Aviation, Telespazio leads SENECA (Satellite Navigation Services for Civil Aviation), a programme supported by ENAV (the Italian Company for Air Navigation Services) and the Italian Space Agency (ASI), which aims to prepare Italian air traffic management (ATM) for the widespread use of satellite navigation based on EGNOS.
