Telespazio is the reference operator for
Finmeccanica in navigation services management
and for system management and control. The
Company has the responsibility for one of
the two Mission and Control Constellation
Centres, located in Fucino (L’Aquila) and
one of the two Signal Performance Validation
Centres, located in Rome, as well as the
responsibility for the Italian Galileo Test
Range.

The European Geostationary Navigation Overlay
Service (EGNOS) is Europe’s first venture
into satellite navigation. It will augment
the two military satellite navigation systems
now operating, the US GPS and Russian GLONASS
systems, and make them suitable for safety
critical applications in air flight or navigation
through narrow shipping channels. |

STENAV, an ENAV program (Italian Company
for Air Navigation Services) consists of
a complex facility, jointly developed and
deployed by Telespazio and AMS.
STENAV will provide Institutions as well
as the private sector with a scenario preview
boosting confidence in the Galileo and GNSS
systems.

Of Mobile Pre trip, On trip Services

COMPOSE is a project co-funded by the European
Commission under the 5th Framework Programme
(Cross Programme Actions (CPA) – Mobile
applications and services).
It is the innovative mobile service package
for travellers based on the full integration
of mobile pre-trip (3D navigation in city
environment) and on-trip (in-car location
based & satellite broadcast/multicast and
last mile) services.
