Telespazio at COM-PA 2006

Telespazio is among the exhibitors at the 13th COM-PA, the
European Exhibition of Public Communications and Services
to Citizens and Business, which will be held in Bologna
from 7 to 9 November. It will be present at the Ministry
of Defence stand.
Telespazio will illustrate its activities in the fields of Earth Observation – through a virtual flight over the city of Bologna using very high resolution satellite pictures – and broadband satellite services aimed at Public Administration and local authorities. |
Thanks
to the agreement signed on 18 September
with CONSIP SpA, Telespazio will be able
to offer local authorities and the Public
Administration a complete range of solutions
that will enable them to bridge the digital
divide, including internet access, the dedicated
use of satellite connections and the broadcasting
of themed channels on the web.
This agreement represents a definite and
immediate response to the need for telecommunications
services across the country, and brings
closer the regions of Italy that do not
currently have access to new digital technology.
Terrestrial solutions can only partly fulfil
the Public Administration’s demand for broadband
services, because they do not cover the
whole of Italy. Satellite services alone
can guarantee that these connections are
immediately available, and furthermore are
easily integrated with wireless solutions
and offer the possibility of providing services
to a wider user base.
