Telespazio (a Finmeccanica/Thales company) and the Italian Space Agency (ASI), in collaboration with e-GEOS (Telespazio/ASI), are promoting the second-level master’s course in space remote sensing technology.
The master’s course, which will include a placement at the Matera Space Centre, is being organised in association with the University of Bari, the Politecnico di Bari, the University of Basilicata, the University of Naples Parthenope and the Association of Italian Small and Medium Aerospace Enterprises (AIPAS).
The aim of the master’s course is to enable 20 young graduates to supplement their professional profile with knowledge of the methodologies and tools offered by new territorial and environmental space technologies. This has become a strategic necessity in the Earth observation sector, which has developed rapidly since the COSMO-SkyMed satellite system, financed by the ASI and the Italian Ministry of Defence, came into operation.
The master’s course in space remote sensing technology will teach talented young people how to use satellite data to meet the needs of institutions, businesses and the international scientific community.
