Telespazio is to take part at SAT EXPO 2010,
the international exhibition of services,
space applications and integrated telecommunications,
which will take place at the Nuova Fiera
di Roma (Rome’s exhibition centre) from
4 to 6 February.
Telespazio will present its activities in the Galileo, COSMO-SkyMed, GMES and SICRAL space programmes, and in the satellite communications and Earth observation sectors. It is the main Finmeccanica company active in satellite navigation and localisation services. At its Fucino Space Centre, Telespazio has built one of the control centres that will manage the Galileo satellite constellation.
In the field of satellite communications, Telespazio designs, builds and manages telecommunications networks with global coverage for corporate and institutional clients. On show in Rome will be the specific services and networks implemented for Civil Protection Department, Interior Ministry and the Fire Department. In addition, Telespazio will present the services relating to the transport and distribution of radio and television signals for national and international broadcasters.
The company carries out all its activities relating to the Earth observation sector through its e-GEOS subsidiary (80% Telespazio; 20% the Italian Space Agency). e-GEOS is a leading international operator in the field of geospatial information, with an integrated range of application solutions, content and value-added services, based on radar and very high resolution optical data. Some of the satellite operations based on radar data from the Italian COSMO-SkyMed system will be presented at SAT EXPO.
