The new e-GEOS (ASI/Telespazio) website is online

From today, the new e-GEOS website is online, with more content, in-depth information, and news, as well as with completely redesigned graphics.

The home page is devoted to news, with a gallery of satellite images that will help to track important events taking place on our planet. For example, thanks to COSMO-SkyMed images on the Google Earth interface, it is possible to follow the movement of the oil spill from the Deepwater Horizon platform in the Gulf of Mexico.

The new site also has a featured image section, devoted to the most spectacular images of the globe, and a gallery of evocative very high resolution optical and radar satellite images.

Moreover, on the COSMO-SkyMed products page, clients can access catalogue images – a practical tool for researching available data, which allows images to be ordered online.

On the Airborne section, clients have access to the REALVISTA catalogue, which allows selection and ordering of aerial images of the whole of Italy’s area as well as the main Italian cities, with varying degrees of resolution (50, 20, and 10 cm).

Finally, the Applications section is full of case histories and multimedia content.

e-GEOS, a joint venture between Telespazio (80%) and the Italian Space Agency (20%), is active in all areas relating to Earth observation, from collecting and processing satellite data to developing and marketing products. The company, which has premises in Rome and Matera, aims to become the world’s leading provider in the field of geospatial information, with an integrated range of application solutions, content and value-added services, based on synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data and very high resolution (VHR) optical data.
In 2009, e-GEOS acquired control of Telespazio’s Earth Observation division, which had over 20 years’ experience in developing innovative solutions for all customer categories, and of Eurimage SpA, a company that manufactures Earth observation satellite products and services.
